πŸ‘€Account & Profile

How do I create an account?

Download the RideTayo app and tap 'Sign Up'. You can register with your email address or sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook. Fill in your profile details to get started.

Can I change my username?

No. Your username is permanent once set. This is by design β€” your username is part of your permanent rider identity on the platform. Choose it carefully during sign-up.

How do I update my profile photo or bio?

Go to your profile and tap 'Edit Profile'. You can upload a photo from your camera or photo library, and update your name, bio (up to 160 characters), nationality, and other details.

How do I sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook?

On the sign-in screen, tap the Google, Apple, or Facebook button. You'll be prompted to authenticate with that provider. We receive your name and email from them β€” no separate password is needed.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. A 7-day grace period applies β€” you can cancel the deletion within that window. After 7 days, your account and all associated data (profile, posts, bikes, routes, etc.) are permanently and irreversibly deleted.

πŸ›‚Digital Passport

What is the Digital Passport?

Your Digital Passport is your official RideTayo rider identity. It has a unique passport number (format: RT-XXXXXXXX), your rider tier/rank, and badges that reflect your activity on the platform.

What is my passport number?

Your passport number is automatically generated by the system when you create your account. It is unique to you and cannot be changed or transferred.

What are the rider tiers and badges?

Rider tiers and ranks are computed by the system based on your activity (rides, stamps collected, routes completed, etc.). Badges such as 'verified', 'official', 'creator', and 'owner' are assigned by RideTayo based on your status. They are not purchasable.

What is the QR code on my passport?

Your passport QR code is a time-limited identity token (valid for 5 minutes) used to verify your identity β€” for example, when scanning in at a participating merchant or event. Generate a fresh QR code each time you need to use it.

🏍️Garage

How do I add a bike to my garage?

Tap the Garage tab and then the '+' button. Fill in your bike's details (name, brand, model, year, etc.) and optionally add a cover photo and story. You can add multiple bikes.

What is 'bike status' and what do the options mean?

Each bike in your garage has a status: Active (your current ride), Sold (transferred ownership), or Scrapped (decommissioned). Updating the status helps keep your garage history accurate.

Can I track modifications to my bike?

Yes. Open any bike in your garage and tap 'Add Mod'. You can log modification name, category, description, and photos. This builds a documented history of your bike's build.

Is my plate number visible to other riders?

Plate number visibility follows your profile privacy settings. By default, profiles are public. Set your profile to private in Settings > Privacy if you want to restrict who can see your data.

πŸ—ΊοΈRoutes

Who can create a route?

Any rider can create a Community route. Official routes are curated by the RideTayo team. Merchant routes are created by verified merchant partners.

What is the difference between a Waypoint and a Pitstop?

Waypoints (shown in red on the map) are mandatory checkpoints β€” you must pass through them to complete a route. Pitstops (shown in blue) are optional merchant stops you can visit along the way.

Are the routes safe to ride?

Routes on RideTayo are for informational reference only. Road conditions, closures, and hazards change. Always exercise your own judgment. RideTayo is not responsible for accidents or injuries. Ride safe and obey traffic laws.

How do I leave a review for a route?

Open the route detail screen and tap 'Write a Review'. You can rate the route 1–5 stars and add a written review with optional photos.

πŸ“£Feed & Social

How do I follow another rider?

Visit a rider's profile and tap 'Follow'. If their account is set to require follow approval, they must accept before you can see their content. You can unfollow at any time.

Can I edit or delete a post after publishing?

Yes. Open your post and tap the edit or delete option. Note that edit history is retained by the system for moderation purposes.

How do I control who can see my profile and posts?

Go to Settings > Privacy. You can set your profile to public or private, toggle whether your online status is visible, and require approval for new followers.

How do I report inappropriate content or a user?

Content reporting is coming soon. In the meantime, if you encounter harassment or policy violations, please email [email protected] with details (screenshots are helpful).

πŸ””Notifications

How do I turn off notifications?

Go to Settings > Notifications. You can toggle push notifications, social notifications (likes, comments, follows), route updates, and event notifications independently.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Check that you have granted notification permission to the RideTayo app in your device's system settings (Settings > Apps > RideTayo > Notifications on Android, or Settings > Notifications > RideTayo on iOS). Also confirm notifications are enabled in the RideTayo app settings.

πŸ”’Privacy & Data

What data does RideTayo collect?

We collect account information, bike and garage data, route and location data (when you create or browse routes), social content, and session metadata. See our full Privacy Policy for details.

Is my location always tracked?

Location is only accessed when you explicitly use location-based features (such as finding nearby routes). The app does not run background location tracking beyond what is needed for active navigation features.

Can I export my data?

A data export feature is planned but not yet available. We will notify users when it is implemented.

How do I request deletion of my data?

You can delete your account directly in the app at Settings > Account > Delete Account. This triggers permanent deletion of all your data after a 7-day grace period. For questions, contact [email protected].

πŸ”§Technical & Troubleshooting

The app is slow or crashing. What should I do?

Try closing and restarting the app. If problems persist, check that you have the latest version installed via the App Store or Google Play. You can also try clearing the app cache in your device settings.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the sign-in screen, tap 'Forgot Password'. Enter your registered email address and we'll send you a password reset link.

Why does the app ask for camera or location permission?

Camera access is needed to scan QR codes and capture bike or profile photos. Location access is needed to show nearby routes and enable navigation features. You can grant or revoke these permissions in your device system settings at any time.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Email [email protected] with a description of what happened, what you expected to happen, and if possible a screenshot or screen recording. We appreciate your help making the app better.
